Comme des Garçons F/W 2015: Bows Meet Asymmetrical Geometrics

January 7, 2016

Neutral palettes, refined details, and minimalist designs are embodied within each piece in the Fall/Winter 2015 Comme des Garçons’ ready-to-wear collection. Rei Kawakubo maintains her nonconformist aesthetic and anti-fashion individuality while the clothes’ practical qualities remain integral to the collection’s appeal. Ambiguous shapes makes it evident that Kawakubo’s creations are only for the fierce and audacious.

The Bow Jacket is perfect for those who brave the elements on a daily basis. The jacket’s 100% wool fabric provides sufficient warmth and feminine shapes through its A-line shape. Moreover, the black faux leather bows provide a charming and edgy quality to those who prefer something brassy. In fact, the Lace Coat’s black palette and intricate details is perfect for those who have even more minimalist tastes. However, the coat’s ruffled holes ensure that wearers do not forget the brand’s main aesthetic.

The daredevil in every woman will find comfort in the Bow Back Jacket. It is at once formal, yet geometric as the lapels split open into separate lines. The leather bows line the back, while the long hemline and cinched waist is ideal for those who want their clothes to have unique qualities. Moreover, the collection’s billowy asymmetric shorts offers a comfortable balance for the tomboy who prefers to be street style cool.

Comme des Garçons’ street and geometric cool remain integral to the Fall/Winter 2015 collection.
